Ivan D. Ossa is a Cameroonian-Canadian writer and director based in Toronto. Known for blending poetic realism with emotional urgency, Ivan crafts stories that explore identity, ambition, and the quiet violence of expectation. His TIFF-nominated short film EXPRESS premiered at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival, earning acclaim for its kinetic direction and soul-stirring depth.

In 2025, he led the first-ever Short Film Incubator in Barbados in partnership with the Barbados Film & Television Association and Export Barbados, supporting emerging Caribbean filmmakers through mentorship and hands-on production.

Ivan is currently developing a slate of film and television projects, including his feature debut HEIR, the Gen Z ensemble dramedy Relevance, and On This Day in July—a poetic short film exploring the fragments of a relationship in the aftermath of love. His work draws from lived experience and a deep interest in the emotional undercurrents that shape our choices, offering audiences stories that resonate across cultures.
